I am a photographer interested in the changing times as the identities, technologies and the ways of being we know evolve into what the future would be. I follow these stories with empathy, observation and participation being foremost in my mind and I strive for my images to convey this in its full human experience. I live and work in Accra and my own lived experiences and communities form the basis of my practice in terms of themes and approach. My work centers communal and personal local stories told using various mediums including image making, modern technological tools and site specific installations/design to connect with these communities.
I am the founder of Kané Studios in Accra, a creative studio focused on visual productions at the intersection of photography, animation and extended realities. The space exists to create a platform for artists and practitioners especially those in the social minority who are interested in alternative digital forms in photography, VR, AR and other immersive experiences.
I have worked with various cultural spaces and organizations including the World Press Photos, British Council, The Prince Claus Fund, ARS Electronica, Fakugesi Festival, Pro Helvetia, Nafarsi Art Space and Ano Ghana. I have also exhibited in various museums and art spaces including the Dakar Biennale, Museum Ostwall, Tropenmuseum, Nubuke Foundation, PhotoVogue, Maputo Fast Forward, Wits University and the University of Ghana.
